HomeBooksParatrooper log book

A nice new addition to my collection is this paratrooper log book. It is undated, but judging by the contents this must be an early war publication. Inside are pages to record the paratrooper’s own personalia and notes for each of the four weeks of jump school training. It also has a jump record to note all the details of each jump. From this booklet, we can follow the course of the training, building up towards actual jumps for flying aircraft. The photos clearly show the Riddell jump helmets being transparent, but in reality they weren’t as transparent as they seem in these pictures. This must be due to the flash. The paratrooper songs and prayers are identical to the leaflet I posted on April 29th.
