Hi John,
Sounds like a post-war if it has the filter compartment and the plastic walls alongside the switch. But I only know of the TL-122-D. This could be an interesting variation. If you ever get a chance to take a picture of it, or someone who can do it for you, please send it on and I will add it.
Regards,
Wouter

I am the owner of a TL-122 (the side says "TL-122", nothing else) flashlight. I would include a photo, but I can't use my camera. I bought it for $5 at a pawn shop. It came with 4 filters: 1 nearly translucent and white, one yellow, one red, and one blue. They were kept in a compartment on the bottom of the flashlight, as shown above. Also, flanking the power switch, are two plastic walls that I believe are to prevent accidental powering on of the flashlight. I have also seen similar models with very strong magnets atop these plastic walls.

Fijn dat je het leuk vindt. Ik spreek ook Nederlands, maar ik hou het in het Engels om zo een groter publiek te bereiken. US WW2 collectors spreken toch allemaal Engels ;-)

Hi Wouter,

Have been visiting your website for some time now and I really like the place! Nice articles and especially a very nice blog.

I purchased this book this afternoon, even though I'm a Dutch speaking Belgian. I don't think the French will be a problem though. Seems like a very interesting book, hope it's worth the read!

Best,
Kenneth

Sure, the pipes you need are 52mm diameter and (about) 1,5 meters long. You need 52mm if you want the original connector sleeves to fit. I will make a how-to article once I've finished the job myself. Could be a few more weeks until I get around to it, so don't hold your breath. But I'll let you know.

I am curious to know if the top on a Taylor WWII wrist compass can safely be removed. The lens appears cloudy. Otherwise, the compass is mint. Thank you.

Soldiers would sew luminous tape to the back of their helmet covers and soft caps in the 70s . This may have dated back to Vietnam conflict. We were doing this when I was a pathfinder in the 82nd in 1979 .

Thanks for your warning and concern. I have two disks and keep them in a show case. Both are intact on the outside and little or no rust, but as you can see in the pics, the contents of one of them have broken up, but that's inside. I try to touch them as little as possible. It's an invisible hazard...
