A real deactivated BAR can set you back 1500 – 2500 euros. The VFC airsoft BAR, though excellent, still cost over a 1000. So a Chinese copy had been a long time coming. With everyone going full-metal now, the collector benefits. ACM just released this beautiful metal replica. I read they had some issues with the supplier of the wooden furniture, so the first ones will be with fake wood parts, but don’t let this hold you back. The finish looks nice, and the detailing on the metal is said to be great also.

I pre-ordered one right away, and am looking forward to getting my hands on it. I plan to nicely age it and fit it with an original wooden handguard. The stock will be painted black, as WW2 BARs generally had composit stocks instead of wood. So count on seeing a review with step-by-step aging tips and detailed photos on these pages soon!
